EDINBORO, Pa. – For the second straight week, the Ohio Dominican Panthers (1-1) football team had to play overtime – three extra periods to be exact. The Panthers headed to western Pennsylvania to take on the Edinboro Fighting Scots (1-0) on Thursday (Sept. 3) night.

In a game that spanned nearly five hours with overtime and a lightning delay, Edinboro rallied from 14 points down to defeat Ohio Dominican 38-36 in a late-night thriller

BOX SCORE NOTES

• Carson Parker led the Panthers with 240 yards of total offense and three touchdowns. Parker was 20-of-41 passing for 172 yards passing with a team-high 68 yards rushing on nine carries.
• Nathan Webster finished with 58 yards on 13 carries, scoring once while also having a catch for five yards.
• Luke Hess caught a team-high five passes for 38 yards and a touchdown. Conner Campbell had four catches for 49 yards with a touchdown of his own. Gage Bodey made three catches in the game. Roderick Love had the third touchdown from Parker.
• Ian Furlong punted ten times (2^nd most in program history), averaging 40.5 yards per kick with a long of 51 yards and five downed inside the 20.
• Jackson Callaway notched 96 yards on four kick returns.
• Ryan Elliot had two field goals and two extra points in his ODU debut. His 47-yard field goal was tied for 8^th longest in the record books.
• Harlee Hanna led with 13 tackles while Rico Franklin-Davis and Dalton Chilcoat each had nine tackles.
• Dominik Richardson made 1.5 sacks in the game.
• The Panthers totaled 172 yards passing and 172 yards rushing, edging the Fighting Scots in rushing by one yard. Edinboro tallied 455 yards of total offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After the second Panthers drive of the night, the game was halted for nearly 80 minutes due to severe weather that ran through Western Pennsylvania.
• When the game resumed, neither team could get any movement on offense as the game was tied 0-0 after one quarter.
• Edinboro struck first on their first play of the second quarter as they got a 54-yard touchdown pass to lead 7-0 with 14:27 left in the half.
• Later in the second quarter, Ohio Dominican answered and took the lead. Parker found Campbell in the back corner of the end zone for a 36-yard touchdown pass. Matt Carlisle ran in the two-point conversion try, giving the Panthers an 8-7 lead with 8:02 to go in the second quarter.
• After an Edinboro three-and-out, ODU added on three points of the boot of Ryan Elliot, converting on a 33-yard field goal with 4:08 to go for an 11-7 advantage.
• Before the end of the first half, Parker put his second passing touchdown on the board in the final minute. Parker found Love on a 12-yard score as ODU led 18-7.
• Edinboro tried a last second 35-yard field goal that was missed as the score was 18-7 at the halftime break.
• Ohio Dominican got a 47-yard field goal by Elliot on their first drive of the second half, leading 21-7 with 11:05 left in the third quarter.
• The Fighting Scots began their rally with a 24-yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to 21-14 with 2:10 to go in the third.
• Later in the fourth quarter, Edinboro knotted the game up at 21 on a two-yard QB keeper. They had a chance to win it with a 53-yard field goal at the buzzer but it was short.
• Ohio Dominican played into overtime for the second straight week.
• ODU started with the ball in the first overtime and scored first as Webster found the endzone on a seven-yard rushing score. Edinboro answered with a two-yard touchdown run as the game shifted to a second overtime at 28-28.
• The Fighting Scots got the first score of the second overtime, a two-yard TD pass on fourth and two and then converted the two-point try for a 36-28 lead. Parker answered with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Hess. Parker forced a third overtime with a two-point conversion.
• Parker's third overtime try was intercepted on a deflection while Edinboro converted on a pass, winning 38-36.
