Men's Soccer Hosts KWC For A Panther Showdown On Senior Night

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team welcomes Ky. Wesleyan on Thursday for a Panther showdown on Sunbury Road. The Black and Gold will honor senior Cory Pulles for his contributions to the program over his four years.

The Panthers went 1-1 last week with a 3-0 win over Northwood and a 5-2 loss at Trevecca Nazarene, moving them to 2-7-3 overall and 2-5-3 in the G-MAC. ODU is currently 11th in the standings with nine points.

The Black and Gold tallied five goals in two games with Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) accounting for two, bringing his season total to four goals. Brad Leonard (Westerville, Ohio), Evan Reppeto (South Lebanon, Ohio), and Aiden Crowley (Springboro, Ohio) all netted their first career goals. Crowley and Leonard scored against Northwood and Reppeto grabbed his goal on the road at Trevecca.

Midfielder Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) recorded two assists over the week. Joining him was Jayden Williams (Springboro, Ohio) and Mohamed Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) adding their first assists of the season. Mhango notched his second assists as well last week.

Between the posts, Pulles snagged a career high of 12 saves and a shutout against Northwood. The senior now has 47 total saves, the third most in the G-MAC this fall. Pulles averages 5.22 saves per game, ranking second among the conference keepers.

About Ky. Wesleyan
The Purple Panthers are 6-3-5 overall and 3-3-4 in the conference after collecting a 1-0 win at Cedarville and a 2-2 draw against Findlay last week. KWC is tied with Trevecca Nazarene in seventh place in the standings with 13 points on the season.

Leading the way for Ky. Wesleyan and tied for fifth in the G-MAC is Santiago Henrich with seven goals. He adds three assists to his stat line. Following him is Matteo Napoletano with six goals and three assists and Calum Newson with five goals and two assists.

In the net, Arthur Hill has a 6-3-4 record with 44 total saves, the fourth most in the conference. The junior has collected three shutouts and a GAA of 1.74 this fall, allowing 22 goals.

The Black and Gold hold a 4-2-1 record over the Purple and White since 2017. In their last matchup, ODU fell to KWC, 3-1, in Owensboro. During the 2021 season, Sheik netted a goal in the Panthers 2-1 win over the Purple Panthers.

Game Time
Action will follow the women's game and begin at 7:30 PM on Thursday evening. Pulles will be recognized during the pregame warmup in Panther Stadium.
