Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio – The Black and Gold began their four game road stretch at Tiffin on Thursday afternoon. The Dragons snapped the Panthers undefeated streak in the G-MAC with a 2-0 win.
The Black and Gold registered the first shot of the match from Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) in the 21st minute. The Dragons responded with two shots of their own in the 22nd minute, allowing keeper Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) to grab his first save of the afternoon.
Junior Mohamed Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) fired off a shot before halftime missing far right, leaving the match scoreless.
Tiffin opened the second half with a shot over the net in the 50th minute. ODU followed with a shot out right in the 52nd minute from Brad Leonard (Westerville, Ohio). The Dragons were awarded a penalty kick in the 52nd minute that Boutarfa Mounir converted to open the scoring in the match.
In the 66th minute, Marco Perez (Gilbert, Ariz.) and Leonard pressured the Tiffin backline with back-to-back shots, forcing keeper Declan Lehman to work between the posts. The Dragons extended their lead 2-0 in the 75th minute when Malvin Gblah connected with Thierry Van Den Bergh.
Perez tried to rally in the 82nd minute with a shot but missed wide. The Panthers had no answer and dropped the match 2-0.
