Box Score MIDLAND, MICH. – On Friday evening, the Ohio Dominican volleyball team took on conference newcomer Northwood from Riepma Arena. The Black and Gold fell to the Timberwolves 3-0.

- The Panthers out blocked the Timberwolves seven to five in the match. Grace Zinchuk (Schaumburg, Ill.) led the team with four while fellow teammate Jenna Peters (Vermilion, Ohio) added three.
- Junior Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) took the lead with seven kills. Kamryn Maxwell (Norwalk, Ohio), Ashley Aselage (Tipp City, Ohio), and Zinchuk all tallied six kills.
- Collecting 10 of the team's 36 digs was junior libero Alexis Keipert (Burlington, Ky.). Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) recorded eight digs with Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) registering seven.
- Freshman setter Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) accounted for 15 of the Panther's 30 assists.
How It Happened
- The match began with a service ace from Avery, giving ODU momentum. Kirker registered another service ace to tie it up 5-all.
- The Panthers took the lead 10-9 with the help of a kill from Maxwell.
- Aselage and Kirksey collected two kills apiece to extend the Black and Gold's lead to 15-12.
- The Timberwolves went on a seven-to-three run to tie it up at 19-all.
- Zinchuk and Maxwell had back-to-back blocks late to regain the lead 23-22.
- Northwood won four of the last five points to win set one 26-24.
- Ohio Dominican took the lead 3-2 in the second set after Aselage tallied consecutive kills.
- The Timberwolves capitalized on errors and took the lead 9-6.
- The Panthers went on a seven-to-four run to bring the score to 13-all.
- Northwood responded with a four-point run of their, extending the lead 19-14.
- Despite Lauren Lucas (Grove City, Ohio), Peters, and Zinchuk collecting kills late, the Black and Gold dropped set two 25-18.
- The Timberwolves jumped out to a 5-2 lead in set three.
- ODU retaliated by going on a six-to-three run to tie it up, 11-all.
- Kirksey and Madison Smith (Elyria, Ohio) added kills late, but Northwood took set three 25-15, winning the match 3-0.
