Box Score OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Ohio Dominican volleyball team finished off their road trip south with a 3-1 victory over Ky. Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
Box Score Notes
- Kamryn Maxwell (Norwalk, Ohio) recorded a double-double with 13 digs and 11 kills. Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) led the way with 15 kills.
- Sophomore Lauren Lucas (Grove City, Ohio) was the third Panther to score double-figure kills. She recorded 10.
- Alexis Keipert (Burlington, Ky.) tallied 10 digs. Freshman Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) also had a double-double with 26 assists and 11 digs.
- Setter Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) added 15 assists in the match.
- Freshman Adele Wade (Conneaut, Ohio) led the way at the net with seven blocks.
How It Happened
- The Panthers found themselves behind early 8-5.
- KWC went on a six-point run to extend their lead 16-7.
- The Black and Gold won 10 of the last 13 points but dropped set one 25-23.
- ODU opened set two taking the lead early 5-1.
- Maxwell recorded three kills in the Panthers' 6-2 run to remain in the lead, 14-12.
- With never trailing the rest of the match, Ohio Dominican took set two 25-19.
- The Purple Panthers capitalized on errors and took the lead in set three 5-2.
- The Black and Gold took the lead 17-16 after a service ace from Grace Zinchuk (Schaumburg, Ill.)
- Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) registered three service aces in a row to round out set three with Ohio Dominican on top, 25-20. Panthers took the lead 2-1 in sets.
- ODU found themselves trailing early 8-3.
- A kill by Kirksey gave the Black and Gold the lead 10-9.
- The Panthers closed out the set by going 12-3 run, winning set four 25-15. ODU won the match 3-1.
