Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team opened its 2022 season at home against McKendree University Thursday evening.
The Bearcats' offense outshot the Panthers 6-2 in the first half. Forwards Khalif Hassan (Columbus, Ohio) and Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) each registered a shot in the half.
Goalkeeper Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) had his one and only save of the night off of a shot by Karson Huels in the 24th minute, leaving the game scoreless at the half.
The Black and Gold offense came out strong in the second half with back-to-back shots from Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) and Nindi in the 48th and 52nd minutes. A shot by senior Carter Patchett (Dublin, Ohio) in the 58th minute forced the Bearcats goalkeeper to make his first save of the match.
McKendree scored in back-to-back possession in the 80th and 81st minute with goals from Stephan Stuebbe. He was assisted by both Philipp Schmidt and Rhys Davies. The Panthers had the last attempt by Abdoul Mamadou (Columbus, Ohio) in the 88th minute but ultimately fell to the Bearcats 2-0.
