First Half Shooting Surge From Lake Erie Too Much For Panthers

Box Score

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team fell 69-62 to Lake Erie College on the road in Painesville on Saturday afternoon. Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) shined once again, scoring 25 points in the contest. Guard Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio) added 18 points and seven assists to the Black and Gold cause.

The Storm began the game shooting a robust 77% from the field and outscored ODU by a 25-18 margin in the opening period. LEC continued the momentum into the second quarter and took a lead into the locker room at the break.

Stare tallied 10 points in the third quarter as Schlabach added five points to trim the Storm lead to 59-44 heading into the final quarter. ODU limited Lake Erie to just 10 points in the final frame but the early lead established by the Storm proved too much for the Black and Gold as Lake Erie captured the victory.
