Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team fell short in their final road match of the year to Lake Erie, 87-69. The Black and Gold are 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the Great Midwest.
Box Score Notes
- Junior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) notched 22 points, eight rebounds, and five steals. Stare is now 11 points away from 1,000 career points. Stare went 13=16 from the charity stripe.
- Off the bench, Sarah Ochs (Beavercreek, Ohio) tallied a career-high of 14 points on 5-6 shooting. Fellow freshman Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio) also added 14 points to the mix with two steals.
- Trinity Ramos (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) collected 10 points in 29 minutes of play.
- Leading the way with nine rebounds was Logan Pride (Twinsburg, Ohio). The freshman registered six points and two steals.
How It Happened
- The Storm jumped out to a quick 11-5 lead in the first half of the opening period. A buzzer-beater by Ochs cut the Panthers' deficit to 19-12 at the end of the first quarter.
- LEC opened the second period with a 12-2 scoring run extending their lead to 31-15. The Black and Gold trailed at the break 45-28.
- Pride began the third period with back-to-back layups. ODU cut the deficit to as low as 11 but entered the final 10 minutes trailing 68-50.
- A fast break layup from Ochs brought Ohio Dominican within 10 points with 3:05 remaining. Despite a string effort, the Black and Gold fell 87-69 to the Storm.
