Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – On Friday evening, the Ohio Dominican volleyball team tamed the Storm of Lake Erie in Painesville, 3-1.

- Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and Lauren Lucas (Grove City, Ohio) led the way for the team with 15 kills each. Kirksey also added 11 digs and five blocks.
- The Panthers out-blocked the Storm 10.0 to 5.0 in the match.
- Freshman middle Jenna Peters (Vermilion, Ohio) notched 10 kills and two blocks.
- Junior Alexis Keipert (Burlington, Ky.) tallied 23 digs. Fellow teammate Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) added 15.
- Setter Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) led the team with 35 assists in tonight's match. Freshman Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) followed with 10 assists.
How It Happened
- The Black and Gold found themselves behind early in set one 11-2.
- ODU responded with a six-point run where Kirker collected back-to-back service aces to bring the score to 11-8.
- The Panthers tied it 13-all off a kill from Peters.
- The Storm retaliated with a nine-to-two run to grow their lead to 22-15.
- Ohio Dominican tried to rally late with kills from Kamryn Maxwell (Norwalk, Ohio) and Lucas but fell short, dropping the set 25-21.
- Ashley Aselage (Tipp City, Ohio) registered four quick kills to tie the second set 6-6.
- LEC went on a four-point run to grab the lead 15-14. They extended their lead to 21-15 after errors from the Black and Gold.
- The Panthers came back by winning 10 of the last 11 points to take the second set 25-22.
- ODU trailed 6-4 to open the third set.
- Lucas and Kirksey each tallied kills to give the Black and Gold the lead of 9-7.
- Ohio Dominican then went on a 10 to one run, growing their lead 23-15.
- The Panthers won the third set 25-17 off a kill from Kirksey, taking the lead 2-1.
- In the fourth set, ODU took the lead 7-4 after a solo block from Kirksey.
- In a back-and-forth set, the Black and Gold strung a number of kills together from Arica Thies (Fairfield, Ohio), Kirksey, and Lucas to establish the lead 17-11.
- Lake Erie responded with an eight-point run to tie it up at 20.
- Ohio Dominican toughed it out and finished the set on top 25-23, winning the match 3-1.
