INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced Athlete of the Week Awards on Monday, Oct. 31, recognizing a member of the Ohio Dominican volleyball team as South Division Defensive Player of the Week.
The Panthers went 2-1 over the course of last week where Junior Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) collected a total of 54 digs, averaging 5.4 per set, she also added five service aces and eight assists.
Shoup grabbed a career-high 35 digs in the 3-1 win against Tiffin on Friday evening. This marked the most digs recorded in a game since 2018 for a member of the Black and Gold. Her mark of 35 digs also ranks fifth most digs in a game for the conference this season.
The junior libero most recently became the 12th member in program history to collect 1,000 digs in her career. She currently sits at a mark of 1,087 digs.
