Box Score HAMMOND, Ind. – The Ohio Dominican volleyball team ended the second day of the Midwest Regional Crossover on cloud nine after a five-set thriller against Parkside leaving the Panthers with a 3-2 win.

- Three different Panthers recorded double-figure digs. Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) led the way with 22, giving her over 1,000 digs in her career. Alexis Keipert (Burlington, Ky.) followed with 11 digs and Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) added 10.
- Kirksey also notched a career-high of 24 kills against Parkside. Lauren Lucas (Grove City, Ohio) registered 10.
- At the next, freshman Jenna Peters (Vermilion, Ohio), Arica Thies (Fairfield, Ohio), and Grace Zinchuk (Schaumburg, Ill.) all tallied four blocks.
- Setters Gabrielle Kirker (Tallmadge, Ohio) and Saige Avery (Yorkville, Ill.) put up record numbers as well. Kirker grabbed 29 assists and Avery added 25.
How It Happened
- The Panthers had the upper hand early 6-3 off a service ace from Kirksey.
- Parkside tied it up at 9-all with a block.
- The Rangers established a 17-14 lead, capitalizing on ODU errors.
- UWP ended set one on top 25-17 after going on an eight-to-three run.
- The Black and Gold snagged the lead early 6-2 with a kill from Peters.
- Ohio Dominican remained in front and added a seven-point swing to grow their lead 22-14.
- The Panthers took set two 25-19, tying it 1-1 in sets.
- A service ace from Avery allowed ODU to grab the lead 5-3 in the third set.
- Parkside responded with a four-point swing, making it 9-8 them.
- A big block from Thies and Peters gave the Black and Gold the edge, 17-14.
- UWP rallied back winning six of the last nine points, grabbing set three 25-23.
- In set four, Ohio Dominican trailed 9-5.
- The Panthers snatched the lead 13-12 after a seven-to-one run.
- ODU remained in the lead and grabbed eight of the last 11 points to win set four 25-21.
- After another service ace from Kirksey, the Black and Gold enjoyed a 7-4 lead in the fifth set.
- Ohio Dominican extended their lead to 13-7 after a five-point swing.
- The Panthers stole the fifth set 15-13 off a kill from Lucas, winning the match 3-2.
