Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Panthers met the Timberwolves for the second time this season at Panther Stadium. Northwood took the contest, 2-1.
The Black and Gold were quick to apply pressure on Northwood's backline. Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) and Carter Patchett (Dublin, Ohio) fired off back-to-back shots in the 6th minute, forcing the Timberwolves keeper to collect consecutive saves.
ODU opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Hayden Garland (Johnstown, Ohio) connected with Nindi to collect his first career goal, giving the Panthers the lead 1-0.
In the 37th minute, Northwood tied it up 1-1 with a goal from Chris Escalante off a cross from Lucas Hart.
Before the break, goalkeeper Ethan Kraynak (Worthington, Ohio) collected two saves to leave the match tied at half.
Freshman Jack Jenkins (Canal Winchester, Ohio) let off a shot in the 62nd minute and Khalif Hassan (Columbus, Ohio) registered a shot in the 67th minute but missed the mark.
Kraynak collected another save in the 78th minute off a shot from Josh Rowland.
NU was awarded and converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute to take the lead 2-1. ODU was awarded a penalty kick three minutes later but failed to convert it.
Hassan and Jenkins rallied late with shots in the 88th and 89th minutes forcing keeper Robert Gjelaj to work between the posts. He tallied two saves, leaving the match with Northwood victorious 2-1.
