Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio – On Saturday afternoon, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team traveled to Findlay to battle against the Oilers for the first time this season. The Panthers dropped the contest 6-0.
Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) fired off the first shot in the 7th minute. Oilers' keeper collected his first save of the match. In the same minute, goalkeeper Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) registered his first save off a shot from David Hug.
Findlay was awarded a penalty kick in the 26th minute. Bjoern Gilles converted the kick to open the scoring, 1-0. Before the break, Mohamed Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) and Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) tallied shots, but couldn't find the back of the net.
Khalif Hassan (Columbus, Ohio) notched consecutive shots to begin the second half. The Oilers extended their lead 2-0 in the 56th minute when Adam Boone assisted Mitchell Hanosh.
Findlay received another penalty kick in the 65th minute which resulted in another goal for Gilles, giving the Oilers a 3-0 lead.
Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) tried to get the Panthers on the board in the 76th minute. Goalkeeper Boulton collected another game. Nick McCracken grew the Oilers' lead to 4-0 in the 85th minute.
Gilles collected his third goal in the match after connecting with Christian Palushaj in the 88th minute. In the 88th minute, Palushaj registered his second assist when Brendan Ash scored the Oilers' sixth goal of the night.
