Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team suffered a 72-53 loss at #5/#4 Ashland University on Thursday evening.
The Panthers (3-14, 3-8 G-MAC) and Eagles (14-1, 9-0 G-MAC) traded blows in the first half as the Black and Gold remained within striking distance at halftime, but a third-quarter shooting surge from the hosts proved the deciding factor.
Three Panthers finished in double figures as guard Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio) finished with 11 points and seven assists in the contest. Freshman Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) poured in 14 points and added four assists and Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) added 12 points.
Ashland's Macy Spielman spearheaded the Eagle attack, scoring a game-high 23 points. She was a catalyst for an AU offense that outscored the Panthers 25-14 in the third quarter, a margin that proved to be the deciding factor in leading the hosts to victory.
