Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican men's soccer began its fall campaign on Friday afternoon welcoming the No.4 ranked University of Indianapolis to Sunbury Road.
ODU began the evening aggressively as Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) looked to put the Panthers in front when he got crept behind the Greyhounds defense and forced Dimitrios Karousos to make one of his two saves on the afternoon.
UIndy broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when Owen Atkison tallied the game's opening goal after a shot from Michael Tselios was blocked and fell at the forward's feet. Atkison calmly slotted his shot into the back of the net to give his team the 1-0 advantage.
Nindi began the second half registering another shot on target that was once again saved by the Greyhounds goalkeeper.
The contest picked up in physicality heading into the 83rd minute of the game but UIndy silenced the Panther comeback as Alejandro Steinwascher grabbed his first goal of the season to double the lead to 2-0 and carry the visitors to victory.
