Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team increased its winning streak to four games on Thursday evening, by earning a 3-0 victory on the road against Ashland University.
The winning streak is the second of its kind this calendar year as the Black and Gold enjoyed similar success during the spring season. That stretch of wins allowed the Panthers to clinch a spot in the G-MAC conference tournament and eventually make an appearance in the conference semi-final.
ODU collected its first goal of the contest in the 24th minute. Midfielder Mo Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) got the visitors on the board as his shot rocketed toward the back of the net beating the diving goalkeeper and giving the visitors the 1-0 advantage.
Seven minutes later junior Khalif Hassan (Columbus, Ohio) received a pass from teammate Shingai Nindi (Shangai, China) to find open space and double the lead to 2-0.
Hassan struck again in the 53rd minute, this time linking up with teammate Griffin Cook (Whitehouse, Ohio) to beat Eagles goalkeeper Brett Robinson once more.
The Black and Gold defense remained firm and didn't allow AU to break its line. Goalkeeper Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) made one of his four saves in the dying moments of the match to preserve his second clean sheet in as many games.
