Black and Gold Run Winning Streak To Three Games As Pulles Nabs First Clean Sheet

Box Score

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three straight games with a 2-0 victory over Malone University on Saturday afternoon. It's the first time the Black and Gold have enjoyed such a winning streak since this past spring when ODU won four consecutive contests to earn a berth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference semifinal.

The Panthers outshot the Pioneers by a margin of 17-13 during the contest. Sophomore Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) led the Black and Gold with four shots, and teammate Griffin Cook (Whitehouse, Ohio) contributed three shots in the winning effort.

Cook collected his second goal in a week when he received a pass from forward River Allbaugh (Pickerington, Ohio) and beat the diving goalkeeper to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead.

Allbaugh was not done making an impact on the game as he found his way on the score sheet one more time. The senior dropped a perfect pass behind the Malone backline that was collected by Nindi and taken into the final third. The sophomore forward chested the ball down to his feet and slotted his shot into the net to grow the advantage to 2-0 with under two minutes remaining in the contest.

Goalkeeper Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) added four saves as he knabbed the first clean sheet of his collegiate career and lifted the Panthers to victory.

UP NEXT
