COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio Dominican volleyball team advances to 7-0 at home after defeating Tiffin on Friday night, 3-0.
The Panthers topped the Dragons 34-32, 25-18, and 25-23. ODU has eight 3-0 victories this fall.
BOX SCORE NOTES
- Junior Carleigh Deitsch (St. Henry, Ohio) recorded 42 assists tonight, bringing her total to 1,024 on the season. For the second time in her collegiate career, she logged 40+ assists in a three-set match. She also added 13 digs and two service aces.
- Mya Linder (Grove City, Ohio) led the Panthers in digs with 14. She was perfect in serve receptions, 5-for-5.
- Sophomore Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) registered 15 kills. She accounted for three of the seven Panther service aces.
- Emilee Fecht (Hilliard, Ohio) led the Black & Gold with 17 kills.
- Alexis Keipert (Burlington, Ky.) contributed 13 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ohio Dominican and Tiffin battled in a marathon of a first set. Kirksey tallied nine of the Panthers 22 kills to take the game 34-32.
- Ohio Dominican erased a 12-4 deficit in the opening set and scored the final three points of the game.
- In game two, the Black & Gold outhit Tiffin .206 to .000. The Panthers continued to dominate and went on a 6-2 run to close out the set, taking it 25-18. ODU led 2-0 in the match.
- In set three, the Panthers went on an 8-0 run, extending their lead to 13-5. Despite Tiffin rallying in the set for three ties late, ODU never trailed after its 8-0 run and won the game 25-23. Fecht posted nine kills in the set.
