CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Ohio Dominican volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss at Cedarville Thursday evening to close out its regular season slate. 

The Panthers conclude regular season competition with a 16-13 overall record, including a 9-7 mark in Great Midwest play. ODU has secured its second straight conference win percentage above .500, as well as its second consecutive postseason appearance.  

BOX SCORE NOTES 

• Olivia Kirksey (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) posted a strong offensive performance, hitting .421 en route to a team-high 10 kills.  

• Emilee Fecht (Hilliard, Ohio) and Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio) pitched in eight and seven kills, respectively.  

• Carleigh Deitsch (St. Henry, Ohio) led ODU with 26 assists and tied Jazlyn Lohman (De Pere, Wisc.) for the team high in blocks with three each. 

• Both Kelsey Shoup (Dalton, Ohio) and Alexis Keipert (Burlington, Ky.) registered 10-plus digs.  

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• A tightly contested first set saw ODU and Cedarville (11-12, 8-8 G-MAC) combine for 11 ties, with the last leaving the opening game in a 25-all stalemate. The Yellow Jackets scored the final three points of the set and staved off two ODU set point opportunities to win 27-25.  

• Another close second set had the two sides tied at 15-15. Cedarville though, closed out the frame on a 5-1 scoring run to secure a 25-20 decision and 2-0 lead in the match. 

• The Yellow Jackets jumped out to an early lead in the third game, scoring seven of the first 10 points, before winning 25-13. 

UP NEXT 

• The Panthers now await their opponent during next week's G-MAC Tournament.
