Box Score CANTON, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games by claiming a 3-1 victory on the road against Malone University on Thursday evening.
The Black and Gold opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) took a shot from distance that proved too much for the Pioneer goalkeeper and gave the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
Malone answered in the 68th minute when Gavin Csiszar tallied his fifth goal of the season to level the action at 1-1.
ODU attempted to answer swiftly as Khalif Hassan (Columbus, Ohio) took a shot moments after the Pioneers goal, but it just said wide of the net. The visitors regained the lead in the 75th minute when River Allbaugh (Pickerington, Ohio) received a pass from Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) and converted to double the lead to 2-1.
MU attempted to tie the game once more in the 80th minute but was denied by Alvaro Benito (Zargoza, Spain) as he collected his second save of the contest. The Black and Gold got an insurance goal from Mo Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) in the 87th minute to lift the visitors to a 3-1 victory.
