Men's Soccer Continues The Drama With Late Winner In Nashville

Box Score

NASHVILLE – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team survived a second-half shoot against Trevecca Nazarene to capture a 2-1 victory and win their second consecutive contest.

The Trojans challenged the Panther early as Ben Singer forced an early save from goalkeeper Alvaro Benito (Zargoza, Spain) in the 15th minute. ODU returned fire as forward Shingai Nindi (Shanghai, China) earned a quality scoring chance in the 19th minute but was denied by TNU goalkeeper Adan Gonzalez.

Trevecca challenged with a pair of opportunities in the 34th and 35th minute but Benito once again answered the call and stood tall to keep the game deadlocked at 0-0.

The Black and Gold broke through in the 66th minute when River Allbaugh (Pickerington, Ohio) tallied the opening goal to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage. Two minutes elapsed before the Trojans answered to level the game at 1-1 as Michael Martey equalized.

In the 84th minute, defender Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) collected a pass from Khalif Hasson (Columbus, Ohio) and tallied a late game-winning goal to lift the Black and Gold to the 2-1 victory.
