Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seven days removed from their last meeting in North Canton, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team renewed its rivalry with Walsh University. Their second and final meeting of the regular season saw both teams battling within the friendly confines of Sunbury Road.
Both teams traded scoring opportunities throughout the match, but the Panthers were first to find the scoresheet. A foul led to a Black and Gold free-kick opportunity just outside of the penalty area. Senior midfielder Nuno Lopez (Foz, Spain) stood over the ball and took a shot that kissed off the far post and into the back of the net to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Walsh attacked quickly in the second half as they looked to equalize. Goalkeeper Alvaro Benito (Zargoza, Spain) made one of his career-high seven saves as he denied David Jeze Jr. in the 46th minute. The visitors continued to search for an equalizer in the 70th minute as Benito was once again challenged but stood firm to maintain the Panther lead.
Walsh tied the game in the 82nd minute when Patrick O'Halloran pounced on a loose ball and converted his opportunity to level the game at 1-1 with time ticking away in regulation. Overtime would be needed but neither team could claim an advantage as the contest would end in a draw.

It was a great day for ODU's two lone Spaniards. Both Lopez and Benito influenced the match for the Black and Gold. The senior forward converted the Panthers lone goal and the sophomore goalkeeper collected a career-high seven saves in the draw.
