Win Streak Snapped As Women's Basketball Falls At Home

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team saw its three-game winning streak end as ODU fell 75-44 at home to visiting Kentucky Wesleyan Thursday night in Alumni Hall.

Junior Alexa Fisher (Powell, Ohio) led ODU with nine points, while sophomore Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) and freshman Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio) each scored eight. Freshman Alli Kern (Waterford, Ohio) grabbed a season-high 11 boards, including four on the offensive end, while Fisher added nine rebounds.

ODU (9-7, 6-4 G-MAC) had a sluggish start offensively, making just 6-of-30 shots in the opening 20 minutes as Kentucky Wesleyan (12-3, 8-1 G-MAC) pulled out to a 34-18 lead at the break. ODU was also plagued by 12 turnovers, which resulted in 13 KWC points, though ODU did pull down 25 boards, with Kern grabbing 10 in the half.

Ohio Dominican then never closed to within 15 points in the second half.

ODU did finish with 45 rebounds in the game, tied for the third-most by the team this season, and its 19 offensive rebounds were tied for the second-most in a game this year as well as the team finished plus-eight on the glass.

Ohio Dominican remains at home to take on Trevecca at 1 p.m. Saturday in Alumni Hall.
