Volleyball Suffers Home Setback To Storm

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Lake Erie in G-MAC play Saturday afternoon in Alumni Hall.

Freshman Alexis Young (Gahanna, Ohio) led the Panthers with seven kills and 10 digs, while junior Kelly Nadler (Leipsic, Ohio) added five kills. Freshman Ashton Barr (New Castle, Ind.) finished with 17 assists.

After falling 25-11 and 25-15 in the opening two frame, ODU took a 10-4 lead in the third frame. However, the Storm scored 11 of the next 12 points to go in front 15-11, and they stretched their lead to 19-14 later on.

A kill from junior Rebecca Skidmore (Westerville, Ohio) made it 21-19 and a triple block by Nadler, Skidmore and freshman Alyssa Hoyng (Celina, Ohio) kept it a two-point game at 23-21, but LEC tallied the final two points to close the match.

Ohio Dominican (2-11, 1-4 G-MAC) remains at home for a 7 p.m. match Friday, Sept. 29 against Kentucky Wesleyan.
