Box Score ASHLAND, Ohio – Ohio Dominican was limited to 33 kills as the Panthers fell in three sets at Ashland Saturday evening in GLIAC play.
ODU hit .064 in the match, while the Eagles hit .264. Seniors Tory Thompson (Quincy, Ohio) and Taylor Foster (Ida, Mich.) each had nine kills and classmate Jackie Oestreich (Brighton, Mich.) added eight.
Sophomore Anna Ficker (Cincinnati, Ohio), pressed into setting duties for the second straight match, led the Panthers with 18 assists, and senior Megan Hendershot (Galloway, Ohio) recorded 12 digs.
The Panthers jumped to a 15-10 lead in the first set on a kill by Foster, and kills by Thompson and Oestreich kept it at a five point lead (18-13) later on. However, the Eagles scored 12 of the last 14 points of the set to take it, 25-20.
The second set was even at 11-11 before Ashland scored the next four points en route to a 25-16 win, and ODU fell behind 17-4 in the third frame as the Eagles took it 25-14.
The Panthers (8-17, 3-12 GLIAC) close their season at 5 p.m. Friday at Walsh.
