Box Score HOUGHTON, Mich. – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback (15-25, 21-25, 18-25) at Michigan Tech to cap their weekend in the Upper Peninsula.
The Panthers hit just .133 while the Huskies finished with a .308 attack percentage.
Senior Tory Thompson (Quincy, Ohio) led ODU with 13 kills and sophomore Kelly Nadler (Leipsic, Ohio) added seven. Freshman Bailey Line (Westerville, Ohio) notch 26 assists and classmate Anna Ficker (Cincinnati, Ohio) had 12 digs.
The Huskies opened the first set with an 11-3 run, and the Panthers never drew within six points. The second set was tied at 18-18, and MTU scored two points to pull in front. ODU crept back within a point twice, but MTU scored three straight to go in front 24-20 and pull away.
The Panthers had a 12-10 lead in the third, but the Huskies answered with a 7-1 surge to go on top 17-13. ODU came back within 19-18, but the Huskies scored six straight to close out the match.
Ohio Dominican returns home to host Wayne State at 7 p.m. Friday in Alumni Hall. Fans are encouraged to bring canned food to support Campus Ministry's October Food Drive.
