Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team fell late on Friday afternoon to GLIAC rival Findlay, by a final score of 1-0.
The loss for the Panthers (0-2-2, 0-1-1 GLIAC) was the first time they were defeated by the Oilers (2-2-0, 1-1-0 GLIAC) since the 2012 season.
In the opening half, ODU would be the more aggressive side as they outshot UF 7-5 in the first 45 minutes. However, neither team was able to find any success as the match went to halftime in a 0-0 tie.
In the sixth minute of the second half, Findlay would find the back of the net as senior goalkeeper Justin Alexander (Reynoldsburg, OH) was able to block the first attempt, but unable to recover on the rebound.
Senior Justin Bonchek (Mayfield, OH) led the Panthers with three shots in the match. Junior Tanner Ebright (Pickerington, OH) came off the bench to record two shots, pacing ODU with two shots on goal.
For the match, the Oilers would outshot the Panthers 14-10, while also holding a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.
ODU will look to bounce back as they travel to Tiffin on Sunday for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
