Box Score ALLENDALE, Mich. – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 (15-25, 11-25, 18-25) setback to No. 16 Grand Valley State in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals Wednesday night.
The Panthers, who entered the tournament as the eight seed, conclude their year with a 12-16 record. GVSU, the top seed, advances to the GLIAC Semifinals with a 22-4 record.
ODU finished with 26 kills and 24 errors in the three set defeat. Sophomore Jackie Oestreich (Brighton, Mich.) paced the Panthers with eight kills, junior Kelsey Snyder (Macomb, Mich.) had 13 assists and freshman Ciara Ralston (Findlay, Ohio) led ODU with 19 digs.
A 7-1 run in the first set helped give the Lakers an 11-5 lead, and the Panthers would draw no closer than four in the set. The Lakers jumped out to big leads in both the second and third sets as well to pull away with the win.
Ohio Dominican qualified for the GLIAC Tournament for the first time in program history and won 10 matches in GLIAC play for the first time as well.
