Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 17-25) setback at Tiffin Tuesday night in GLIAC play.
With the loss, ODU fell to 10-13 overall (8-6 GLIAC), while the Dragons improved to 11-12 (5-9 GLIAC).
Sophomore Jackie Oestreich (Brighton, Mich.) had 15 kills and hit .394 to lead the Panthers. Senior Lauren Kraemer (Kettering, Ohio) had 11 kills and senior Caitlin Kusan (Westerville, Ohio) added nine.
Junior Kelsey Snyder (Macomb, Mich.) led ODU with 25 assists and senior Lauren Rindler (Rossburg, Ohio) finished with 30 digs.
Overall, ODU hit just .126 in the match, compared to .199 for the Dragons. Tiffin had 66 kills in the match compared to 46 for ODU.
The first set was knotted at 21-21 before kills by senior Brianna Reder (Maineville, Ohio) and Kraemer helped give ODU a 24-21 lead, and Kraemer closed it out with another kill to give the Panthers the set.
The second set was also tied at 21-21, but this time it was Tiffin who closed on a 4-1 run to take the frame.
In the third, ODU had a 17-16 lead, but the Dragons scored four straight to grab the lead and didn't look back from there. TU then opened an early 11-5 lead in the fourth set, and the Panthers never drew closer than four points down the stretch.
Ohio Dominican remains on the road for a 7 p.m. match Friday at Lake Erie.
