COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team couldn't slow down Findlay's offensive attack as the Panthers fell 3-0 (14-25, 19-25, 23-25) to the Oilers Saturday afternoon in GLIAC play in Alumni Hall.

With the setback, the Panthers fell to 10-12 (8-5 GLIAC), while the Oilers remained alone in first place in the South Division standings at 15-6 (10-3 GLIAC).

The Oilers hit .295 in the match, finishing with 41 kills and just 10 errors, compared to ODU's .131 hitting percentage (34 kills, 20 errors).

The Panthers trailed by just two in the first set at 12-10, but UF went on a 13-4 run to close the set, hitting .344 compared to .057 for ODU in the frame.

ODU hung around until the midway point of the second set as well, trailing just 16-15 after a kill by junior Tory Thompson (Quincy, Ohio), but the Oilers countered with five straight points to take control of the set and the match.

The Panthers led throughout most of the third set, opening a 15-10 advantage on Thompson's kill. The lead remained at three (23-20) after a kill from freshman Ciara Ralston (Findlay, Ohio), but the Oilers went on to score the final five points to close out the match.

Thompson's eight kills paced the Panthers, while Ralston and sophomore Jackie Oestreich (Brighton, Mich.) had six kills apiece. Freshman Ashlin Aiken (Onsted, Mich.) had 16 assists and Ralston and senior Lauren Rindler (Rossburg, Ohio) each finished with 11 digs.

Ohio Dominican is on the road for its final five regular season matches, beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tiffin.
