ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men and women's cross country teams competed at the Ohio University Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 14 and both teams came away third place finishes.

On the men's side, four Panthers finished in the top 20, with junior Michael Barber (New Franklin, Ohio) pacing the team with a time of 16:24.44 for a 10th place finish.

Posting a personal best, junior Jason Williams (Powell, Ohio) crossed the finish line in 15th with a time of 16:45.81, while teammate freshman Patrick Ferguson (Austintown, Ohio) finished 17th, punching a time of 16:50.19.

Rounding out the top-20 finishes was sophomore Brendan Walburn (Hebron, Ohio) who placed 19th after running 17:01.15.

Other top performers for ODU were junior Ethan Miller (Monclova, Ohio), who ran a 17:08.77, freshman Andrew Beier (Bellevue, Ohio) with a time of 17:09.90, sophomore Austin Kilgore (Pickerington, Ohio) who crossed the line with a time of 17:11.35 and junior Connor Callahan (Columbus, Ohio) who finished with a time of 17:23.

Freshmen Tyler Higgins (Middleburg Heights, Ohio), Seth Dorsey (Shelby, Ohio), Zach Fradette (Westerville, Ohio), and senior Christopher Liebold (Green Springs, Ohio) all finished under 20 minutes.

The women were paced by sophomore Shakita Kabicek (Brook Park, Ohio) who led all the Panthers with a 13th place finish with a time of 19:59.93.

Junior Tara Walker (Lewis Center, Ohio) finished 17th after crossing the finish line with a time of 20:19.01 and senior Mallory Kitts (Springfield, Ohio) rounded out the top-20 with a time of 20:38.04.

Junior Erin Miller (London, Ohio) ran a personal best, clocking in at 20:55.14. Junior Rachel Collins (Dayton, Ohio) was close behind, finishing with a time of 21:02.68.

Two other Panthers posted a personal best at the meet. Freshmen Morgan Bitzal (Hartville, Ohio) and Lindsay Davis (Lewis Center, Ohio) finished with times of 21:23.40 and 21:42.85 respectively.

Senior Michelle McKean (Pataskala, Ohio), sophomores Amber Willeman (Napoleon, Ohio) and Nicole Brown (Columbus, Ohio), freshman Kyrsty Rider (Reynoldsburg, Ohio), and junior Hayley Knotsman (Dayton, Ohio) all clocked in under 25 minutes.

ODU will next compete at the Notre Dame All-Catholic Invitational on Friday, Sept. 20 in South bend, Ind.
