ODU Stays Atop GLIAC After 4-0 Win Over Findlay

Box Score

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Friday night was Senior Night for the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team, and the Panthers responded in a big way, as they blasted Findlay 4-0.

Ohio Dominican started the scoring in the 26th minute when sophomore Brent Wahle (Pataskala, Ohio) sent a pass to the right side of the box for junior Jakob Szabo (Worthington, Ohio). Szabo zipped the ball to the left side of the net for his third goal of the season.

The second Panther goal came from junior Frazer Fernandes (Gahanna, Ohio) at the 59:01 mark. Junior Trevor Gates (Gahanna, Ohio) passed the ball to the top right of the box, where Fernandes sent a rocket that hit the post and rolled in to the back of the net for his fifth goal of the year.

Freshman Shane Facemyer (Sunbury, Ohio) continued the ODU scoring at the 65:51 mark. The goal was his first of the season. Sophomore Nigel Patterson (Woodbridge, Ontario) added his second goal of the season to make the score 4-0 in the 67th minute when he received a pass from Fernandes.

The Panther offense was not the only highlight for ODU as the defensive end allowed just one shot on goal, and eight overall. The 4-0 victory is the fifth shutout for the Panthers and sophomore goalkeeper Macklin Robinson (Cincinnati, Ohio). Robinson is now 8-2-2 overall in 2013.

The Panthers have now extended its unbeaten streak to nine, including a 6-0-2 record at home.
