Hillsdale Overpowers Panthers for 78-61 Road Win

Box Score

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Visiting Hillsdale (Mich.) thwarted any comeback chances by the Ohio Dominican women's basketball Thursday evening at Alumni Hall as the Chargers knocked down an impressive 17-of-28 from the floor in the second half to pick up the wire-to-wire 78-61 road win.

Along with 60.7 percent shooting in the second, Hillsdale (12-10, 8-7 GLIAC) also connected on 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) from three-point range, denying the Panthers any opportunity to close within the 10-point halftime deficit. The Chargers' highly efficient offense finished the evening 31-of-61 (50.8 percent) overall and 11-of-26 (42.3 percent) on threes, while assisting on 23 of the 31 field goals.

Despite a season-best 22 offensive rebounds and a 29-7 advantage on second chance points, ODU could not gather any offensive rhythm, shooting just 32.4 percent (23-of-71) for the game.

Sophomore Katelyn Stuckey (Millersburg, OH) notched a team-high 16 points on 5-of-7 from the floor and 6-of-7 at the stripe to go along with nine rebounds. Freshman Kacee Hockenberry (Haviland, OH) posted 15 points, matching her season-high with four triples, while senior Meredith Fox (Springboro, OH) added 13.

With a game-high 11 boards, senior Abby Glover (Centerville, OH) moved into 10th on ODU's career rebounding chart with 608.

Chelsea Harrison had a game-high 30 points for Hillsdale, 21 coming in the second half, on 10-of-18 shooting and 6-of-12 from long range, while handing out seven assists. Lea Jones tallied 14 and Katie Bildner had 10.

ODU (6-16, 2-14 GLIAC) is back home this Saturday as the Panthers welcome Findlay for a 1 p.m. tip as part of the GLIAC's Pink Wave Initiative in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Donations will be accepted at the door with proceeds benefitting the Stefanie Spielman Fund and the Bellman family. It is also Ohio Dominican's annual Academic Excellence Day and Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. All student-athletes who achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher in the fall semester will be recognized at halftime.
