Box Score UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – After playing for the third time this season, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team fell in a heartbreaking fashion to Notre Dame (Ohio) in a 1-0 double overtime decision on Friday afternoon in the GLIAC Conference Tournament Semifinals.
The Panther conclude the 2012 season with an overall mark of 12-6-1 while the Falcons improve to 14-4-0 and advance to the finals against the winner of Saginaw Valley and Northwood.
The Falcons controlled much of the first half, outshooting the Panthers 10-5, including a 4-3 advantage shots on goal. The Panther defense didn't let up, holding the Falcons scoreless going into to half.
Following the break, the tables turned with the Panthers outshooting the Falcons 6-4 but could not capitalize, as the score remained 0-0 at the end of regulation.
In the 106th minute, Falcon Renan Trocolli played the ball through to the 18 yard line for Ryan Ware to connect with the back of the net, lifting the Falcons to the 1-0 victory.
The Falcons outshot the Panthers 17-13, including seven shots on goal.
Freshman keeper Macklin Robinson (Cincinnati, Ohio) collected six saves in the loss.
The Panthers are currently ranked sixth in the region, and will find out their NCAA Tournament fate on Monday, Nov. 5, as the NCAA Men's Soccer Selection Show is set to begin at 7 p.m.
