Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – With their fourth overtime of the season, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team lost a tough battle 2-1 in double overtime to the visiting Tiffin Dragons on a cold, breezy Friday evening.
With the loss, the Panthers now fall to 6-4-1 overall and 5-3-0 in conference while the Dragons improve to 4-4-2 and 3-4-1 on the season.
Senior Tyler Huerkamp (Loveland, Ohio) scored his first goal of the season and the game after senior Justin Wheeler (Gahanna, Ohio) dribbled the ball to the middle to Huerkamp as he chipped the ball over the goalies head.
The Panther controlled much of the second half, outshooting the Dragons, 8-6. With the victory in sight, Tiffin's Karl Jones, directed the ball to the right side of the night past freshman goalie Macklin Robinson (Cincinnati, Ohio) in the last four seconds to knot the game 1-1 and send it into the first overtime.
With a scoreless first overtime, the Dragons once again scored in the final seconds of the second overtime when Jones once again connected from Jon O'Brien to seal the 2-1 victory.
The Panthers edged the Dragons on shots, outshooting them 22-19 and held a 12-3 advantage in corner kicks 12-3.
Robinson collected seven saves in goal.
ODU returns to action next weekend , October 12 as they welcome Ashland to Panther Field for a 7:00 match.
