Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a 2-1 victory over Notre Dame College earlier in the season, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team couldn't overcome a 2-1 deficit as Notre Dame College defeated the Panthers on Panther Field Sunday afternoon on senior day.
With the loss, the Panthers move to 11-5-1 overall and 9-4 in the GLIAC while the Falcons jump to an 13-4 overall record and 9-4 in conference.
Senior Colby Catlett (Hilliard, Ohio) jump started the Panthers, scoring at the 11:35 mark for his fourth goal of the season after sophomore Jakob Szabo (Worthington, Ohio) sent a ball through the defense.
The Falcons soon responded when Erik Beattie knocked in his ninth goal when he connected on a rebound shot, knotting the game at 1-1.
With the rain becoming steadier and the temperatures dropping into the low 40's, Beattie sent the ball over freshman goalkeeper Macklin Robinson's (Cincinnati, Ohio) head for the 2-1 Falcon lead before the half.
The Panthers could not answer the one goal deficit, eventfully falling to the Falcons 2-1.
Robinson collected 13 saves in the loss.
ODU will start the GLIAC tournament by hosting the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Oct. 30. The Panthers will host No. 6 Malone on Panther Field at 2 pm.
