The setback was the third straight for ODU, who fell to 10-13 (4-8 GLIAC), while Wayne State improved to 14-9 (8-4 GLIAC).

Wayne State led wire-to-wire in the opening frame, but the Panthers hung tough early in the second set. A kill by freshman Kelsey Barker (Muncie, Ind.) and an ace by sister Bailey put ODU on top 4-2, and the Panthers trailed by just one at 13-12 midway through the set.
But Wayne State answered with a 7-1 run, going in front 20-13 to take control of the set, then started the third frame on a 7-2 burst to help close out the win.
The Panthers close out the home portion of their 2012 season at 5 p.m. Saturday against Findlay. Prior to the match, ODU seniors Kristy Birkemeier (Columbus Grove, Ohio), Shannon Nadler (Leipsic, Ohio) and Meredith Shifley (Galion, Ohio) will be recognized.
