Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio – The road struggles continued for Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team Thursday evening at Findlay's Croy Gymnasium as the Oilers went wire-to-wire for the 78-56 GLIAC South Division win.
Findlay, with its full-court press throughout much of the game, created chaos in the ODU backcourt as the Panthers were turned over a season-worst 29 times, resulting in 24 Oilers points at the other end. Offensively, Findlay had all facets working, both inside and outside, as it went 27-of-57 (47.4 percent) from the field, 9-of-21 (42.9 percent) on three-pointers and held a 32-16 advantage in the paint.
Senior Abby Glover (Centerville, OH) led all scorers with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for her team-leading fourth double-double. Classmate Meredith Fox (Springboro, OH) added 12 points, while sophomore Katelyn Stuckey (Millersburg, OH) reached double figures for the fifth time in seven games with 10, including a perfect 6-of-6 at the line.
The Oilers opened with 11 of the game's first 14 points and never looked back, growing an eight point lead at the 16:41 mark to 44-28 at the break. Despite only 11 giveaways in the second half, ODU could not close within the 16-point hole as Findlay knocked down 14-of-27 (51.9 percent) shots and cruised to the final margin.
Kayla Brown and Clare Aubry led 11 Oilers players in the scoring column with 16 and 15 points, respectively, as the Findlay reserves outscored its counterparts 25-5.
With their fourth straight road loss and fifth overall, the Panthers fell to .500 at 5-5 and 1-5 in GLIAC play, while the Oilers moved to 6-3 and 3-2 in the conference.
ODU has a 12-day layoff for the holiday break before returning to the hardwood on Thursday, Dec. 29 as it takes part in the two-day Northern Kentucky Classic. The Panthers take on host NKU at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and finish the trek with a clash against current No. 8 Edinboro (Pa.) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
