Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team closed out its five-match homestand with a 3-0 setback against Wayne State (Mich.) on Sunday in Alumni Hall, falling 15-25, 19-25, 17-25.
Junior Rachel Billing (Anna, Ohio) led the team with eight kills, and freshman Ashley Sprau (Delaware, Ohio) and junior Summer Hale (Galena, Ohio) both tallied six. Hale led the team with 24 assists, and libero Stacy Rogg (Cincinnati, Ohio; pictured) had a match-high 16 digs.
The Panthers (1-5, 0-5 GLIAC) hit just .134 compared to .306 for Wayne State (5-4, 3-2). The Warriors also had seven service aces and finished with nine blocks.
ODU trailed 14-5 in the second set but rallied after several Warrior attack errors. Emily Post (St. Henry, Ohio) and Hale teamed up for a block, and both also recorded a kill as the Panthers went on a 10-1 run to even the score. WSU held an 18-17 advantage and took control from that point forward, tallying seven of the final nine points to take the set victory.
Ohio Dominican takes a break from conference play with a match at Urbana at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Knights are 4-7 this season.
