Box Score FINDLAY, Ohio – Ohio Dominican's women's basketball team was limited to 25 percent shooting as the Panthers fell 74-51 to host Findlay Saturday in a GLIAC South Division game at Croy Gymnasium.
ODU drops to 1-8 (0-5 GLIAC), while the Oilers improved to 7-2 (3-1 GLIAC).
Despite committing just eight turnovers, the Panthers connected on just 17-of-68 field goal attempts for the contest, including 6-of-32 in the first half as Findlay led by 12 after the opening frame. Findlay, meanwhile, shot 52.2 percent from the floor and sank 22-of-25 free throws.
The Panthers had led 5-2 early after a three-pointer by junior forward Abby Glover (Centerville, Ohio) and a transition layup by junior guard Meredith Fox (Springboro, Ohio), but Findlay responded by scoring the next 15 points to build a 17-5 lead with 11:41 to play in the half. Consecutive threes by Glover and junior guard Tracy Snider (Lancaster, Ohio) helped trim the deficit to 24-17 with 5:31 to go, but that would be ODU's final field goal of the half as Findlay took a 30-18 advantage into intermission.
Senior guard Melissa Hersey (Cincinnati, Ohio) drained a three and Glover made a layup to keep the Panthers within eight points early in the second half. Findlay embarked on a 15-2 run, though, to take a 53-32 lead and control of the game.
Glover had a season-high 15 points to lead ODU, Snider chipped in with 11 and Hersey had nine points and four assists.
The Panthers are off for the holiday break and return to action at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 when ODU welcomes in Northern Michigan for a GLIAC contest.
