Box Score BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team dropped its fifth straight match on the road as the Panthers fell 3-0 (26-28, 13-25, 20-25) Sunday at Ferris State in GLIAC action.
In the opening set, ODU (7-17, 2-14 GLIAC) battled back from a 12-7 deficit. The Panthers went on a 9-2 run, with kills from Stacy Rogg (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Shannon Nadler (Leipsic, Ohio) to help lead the comeback and put ODU in front 16-14. The Panthers led 24-21 and twice more served at set point, but could not close out the Bulldogs (14-9, 10-6).
In the second set, an 11-0 run by Ferris State broke open a 6-6 game, and the Bulldogs started the third set by scoring 12 of the first 13 points. The Panthers drew as near as four points on several occasions but could complete the rally.
Rachel Billing (Anna, Ohio) led the team with eight kills and Rogg and Summer Hale (Galena, Ohio) finished with six. Elyse Mongillo (Columbiana, Ohio) tallied 24 assists and 10 digs, while Heather Kunze (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the team with 18 digs.
The Panthers return home for their final three matches of the season this week, starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Tiffin in Alumni Hall.
