DETROIT – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team couldn't bookend its weekend with a second victory, falling 3-0 (22-25, 9-25, 17-25) on the road at Wayne State in GLIAC action on Sunday.

The Panthers closed the weekend with a 1-2 record after defeating Findlay in five sets on Friday and falling to Hillsdale yesterday. ODU is now 7-14 (2-11 GLIAC), while the Warriors are now 10-11 overall (8-6 GLIAC).

Ohio Dominican's offense never got untracked, as the Panthers had just 19 kills in the match and hit .065. Wayne State had 47 kills and a .358 attack percentage.

Ashley Sprau (Delaware, Ohio) and Rachel Billing (Anna, Ohio) had five kills apiece, Elyse Mongillo (Columbiana, Ohio) had eight assists, and Stacy Rogg (Cincinnati, Ohio) finished with 10 digs to lead the Panthers, who were also victimized by 11 Warrior service aces.

ODU nearly rallied from nine points down in the first set, as the Panthers cut an 18-9 deficit to 22-21. The Warriors scored the next two points to make it 24-21 before Billing's kill brought ODU back to within two points. However, WSU took the set on the next point.

Ohio Dominican will return to the road next weekend, starting at 7 p.m. Friday at Saginaw Valley.
