Panthers Stalled at Walsh in Road Loss

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team dropped their second game of the season on the road Friday evening, losing 71-56 to former American Mideast Conference rival Walsh University. The Panthers could not overcome a seven point halftime deficit as they dropped to 1-2 on the young season.

Offensively ODU played well throughout the opening half, shooting a respectable 10-of-25 (40%) from the field, but could not stop the Cavalier attack as Walsh jumped out to a 35-27 halftime lead on 15-of-30 (50%) shooting from the field.

The second 20 minutes went much like the first half as the host Cavaliers maintained their lead throughout. The Panthers were outscored 26-29 in the second stanza and held on for the 71-56 home win.

The Panthers saw three players in double figures. Pacing ODU was Kirsten Ruen (Sr./Columbus Grove, OH) who scored 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Ruen was joined by Tracy Snider (So./Lancaster, OH) and Katy Rasor (So./Grove City, OH) who finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Walsh was led by Jessie Miller and Katie Berry who each finished with 24 points.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, November 21st when they will stay in Canton, Ohio to play former AMC foe Malone University in an early season non-conference match-up. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
