COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's volleyball team cruised to a straight set victory in their opening round match versus Southwestern (AZ) College on Thursday evening in Houston, Texas. With the win the No. 2 seeded Panthers will advance to take on the top seed and host St. Thomas (TX) University on Friday, November 13th.
Ohio Dominican made quick work of the Eagles in their opening set with a 25-15 victory. The Panthers continued to roll with a tight 25-23 win in set two and concluded the match with a 25-20 victory.
ODU outside hitter Stacy Rogg (So./Cincinnati, OH; pictured) led the way with a team high 12 kills and had three aces. The Panthers used another strong defensive effort as Ashley Hughes (So./Heath, OH) recorded a game high 19 digs. Senior setter Cassie Schroeder (Columbus Grove, OH) dished out 20 assists for the Panthers.
The Panthers will return to action today as they take on the Celts at 1 p.m. in Jerabeck Gym on the campus of St. Thomas University.
