Panther Drop Lake Erie for Sixth Straight Win

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's volleyball team used another balanced offensive attack to defeat Lake Erie College on Saturday afternoon at the Athletic Center Arena in Painesville, Ohio. With the win the Panthers complete the season sweep of their future Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) counterparts with the 3-0 decision.

The Panthers trailed early in the first set, but took advantage of a five point swing to roll to a 25-16 victory. Lake Erie open the second set scoring the first four points, but another ODU rally led to a second 25-16 win for the visitors. Ohio Dominican jumped out to a 19-7 lead in the third and never looked back as they closed out the match with a 25-17 victory.

Ohio Dominican had five players finish with at least six kills in the match led by a team-high from senior middle hitter Chelsea Rogers (Botkins, OH). The Panthers offense was again led by Cassie Schroader (Sr. /Columbus Grove, OH) and Elyse Mongillo (Jr. /Columbiana, OH; pictured) who combined for 40 assists in the match.

On the defensive side, ODU was led by Stacy Rogg (So. /Cincinnati, OH) with 12 digs and Summer Hale (Jr. /Galena, OH) and Kristy Birkemeier (Columbus Grove, OH) recorded four blocks apiece.
