After spending 27 years as Ohio Dominican's volleyball coach, Sandy Rowley moved into a full-time role as the Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator in 2016. She was promoted to Associate Athletic Director in 2018.
Rowley had served in all three capacities since 2010, and she took on added responsibilities in her expanded administrative role. Rowley serves as the sport administrator for several programs and will take on additional duties in game day management, fiscal responsibilities, compliance, and daily business operations. Gender Equity and Title IX oversight for Athletics will also be a part of her expanded position. She played a key role in helping Ohio Dominican host the 2017 Division II Women's Basketball Elite Eight.
Rowley has been a fixture in the Panther athletic department since her days as a student-athlete on the volleyball team. She was hired to be the head coach of the volleyball team in 1989. During her time as the head coach, she won 512 career games and helped the team make 19 conference tournament appearances.
In 1995, Rowley directed ODU to a program-record 35 victories, including 18 in conference play, which is also a program record. The team has won at least 20 matches 12 times during her tenure.
Rowley and her husband Jeff live in New Albany. They have three daughters: Lyndsay, Jennifer and Kelsey.
