John Teeters will be entering his second season as the school's track and field assistant coach.

Before coming to ODU, Teeters ran in the 2016 Olympic trials preliminaries. He ran a personal best of 10.00s in the 100m.

Teeters attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University. He competed in the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2015 where he earned a silver in the 60m dash. That year, he was also ranked sixth-best in the world in the 60m dash. Teeters is a school record holder in two events: the 60m dash (6.52s) and the 100m dash (9.91s).

His collegiate career began at The University of Tulsa where he qualified for the NCAA West Regional in the 100m, 200m, and the 4 x 100 relay his freshman year. He then broke the school record in the 100m (10.27s) and advanced to the NCAA West semis in the event.
