COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican volleyball team returns to the court this weekend with three matches at the Lindenwood Invitational.

SETTING THE SCENE: The Panthers travel west and begin the three-match set at 2 p.m. CDT, Friday, Sept. 13, against Montevallo (Ala.). ODU will then open Saturday's doubleheader against Lindenwood (Mo.) at 10 a.m. CDT, before closing against William Jewell (Mo.) at 2 p.m. CDT.

REMMETTER & RUTTER:  Two returners for the Black & Gold helped lead the way during the season-opening four-match trip to Ferris State last weekend. Sophomore Amanda Remmetter (Springfield, Ohio) paced the Panthers with 30 kills, 2.31 per set, as well as 28 digs and five blocks.

Senior Allie Rutter (Fostoria, Ohio) had a team-best 33 digs over four matches. To go along with her defensive effort, Rutter finished with 30 assists last weekend. Headlining her performance was a double-double -- 12-assist and 11-dig effort -- against nationally-ranked Ferris State.

FRESH FACES: Freshmen Emilee Fecht (Hilliard, Ohio) and Carleigh Deitsch (St. Henry, Ohio) had strong debuts at Ferris State as well. Fecht led the team with a .370 hitting percentage, logging 29 kills over 13 sets. Her hitting percentage ranks sixth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, while her 10 blocks sit seventh.

Deitsch appeared in three matches, logging an ODU-best 65 assists, including 30 helpers in a match against Gannon. The freshman's 7.22 assists per set are sixth-best in the G-MAC this season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: Montevallo enters the weekend with a 2-3 overall record, including a 3-1 loss to G-MAC institution, Trevecca Nazarene. The Falcons are coming off a 22-9 season in 2018.

The host Lions of Lindenwood are yet to drop a set in 2019, holding a 3-0 record. Lindenwood is coming off a 16-14 season and will host another G-MAC school Friday night in Cedarville before welcoming Ohio Dominican.

William Jewell currently holds a 0-4 record and will also face Cedarville this weekend prior to matching up with the Panthers. The Cardinals, who are members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, finished 12-20 overall a year ago.

UP NEXT: The Panthers continue their run of invitational play with three matches at Southern Indiana next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19, 20 and 21. ODU is set to face USI at 7 p.m. CDT Thursday evening, Kentucky State at 12:15 CDT Friday and Shorter at 12:15 CDT on Saturday.
