Volleyball Earns 11th Straight AVCA Academic Award


LEXINGTON, Ky. – Ohio Dominican's volleyball team notched the AVCA Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year, the 11th straight year the program has garnered the award.

The award honors collegiate and high school volleyball programs that maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average during the academic year. ODU was one of four G-MAC schools represented on the list.

The Panthers tallied one of the top 25 team GPA's on the NCAA Division II list provided by AVCA. Collectively, the Black & Gold also had eight student-athletes earn Academic All-Great Midwest honors for the 2018-19 academic year.

Ohio Dominican will open the 2019 season with four matches in three days at the Ferris State (Mich.) Invitational. The Panthers begin the campaign against the host Bulldogs at 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5.
