INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll, presented by Under Armour, was announced today, and Ohio Dominican was projected to finish sixth in the West Division.

The Panthers received 27 total points in the poll, behind Hillsdale (82), Findlay (76), Tiffin (56), Cedarville (50) and Kentucky Wesleyan (34). Coming in just behind the Panthers in the poll was Trevecca (18).

Under the command of third-year head coach Jenn Fekpe, the Panthers will inject youth into their line-up in 2018, with seven new faces set to see action. The team also returns nine letter winners from last year's squad, including four of its top five point scorers in sophomore Alexis Young (235.0) and seniors Kelly Nadler (206.0), Rebecca Skidmore (201.5), and Patricia Barreto (191.5).

Sophomore Ashton Barr, who had a team-high 778 assists last year, also returns, as do seniors Anna Ficker (366 digs) and Jordan Jaeckin (267 digs).

The Panthers begin their season next weekend at the Southern Indiana Double Tree Invitational on Aug. 24-25. The Panthers play a double header on Friday, August 24, set to take on Edinboro at 9 a.m., followed by a 2 p.m. match with Southern Indiana.
